The Samasthala 200-hour intensive teacher-training programme allows you to become versed in a true form of Yoga. Set amongst a magical mountain location in Selemadeg , Bali, surrounded by lush jungle greenery and endless rice fields and terraces.

Our YTT syllabus covers a wide range of subjects, in an easy to digest and accessible format. This includes philosophy, asana, 14 meridians, pranayama, the five elements, safe practice, bandha, anatomy and physiology,  yoga for trauma therapy, meditation and much more.

Our Bali Yoga Teacher Training retreat destination, is a magical oasis of tranquillity set amidst lush jungle greenery. There are endless rice fields and terraces, with a spectacular view of Mount Batukaru. It offers the perfect space to settle into yourself. Positioned in Selemadeg, you will be able to experience, first hand, the tranquillity and beauty, often coined 'Island of the Gods.’

In a time when many stray away from the true path, we remain 'fundamental' in our simplicity by adhering to the roots of what we believe yoga is meant to be. That which is a wonderful gift, an instrument, used to attune the individual soul ‘atman’ with the universal chords of truth.

The word Samasthala translates to ‘balance’. We recognise the importance of an ashtanga adjacent styled vinyasa flow and traditional hatha yin, both of which are incorporated into our curriculum to create equilibrium.

Rarely do 200-Hour Yoga Alliance approved teacher-training programmes equip the Yogi with an understanding of both. However, we recognise that the opposites of yin and yang is what allows for the existence of all things.

Highlights

PHYSICAL AND EMOTIONAL ASPECTS OF ASANA

This is an in-depth study of postures, and how they affect the body physically and emotionally. You will explore asana in great depth, through the effects of gravity, the central nervous and lymphatic system, cellular structure, basic principles and so on.

ETHICS AND TEACHING PRACTICE

You will be guided on the ethics of becoming a yoga teacher. How to ensure that self-care is instilled in practice and teaching, for you and your future students.

One of our missions is to endow each course attendee with the confidence to find their own voice as yoga teachers.

HANDS-ON ASSISTANCE

Self-assurance will be gained, in knowing when and how to assist students. The differentiating between personalities and accommodating various body types.

THE SEQUENCE

You will be made privy to the complete ashtanga inspired vinyasa flow sequence that has been honed over thousands of hours of classes.

PHILOSOPHY

We deeply explore a broad area of philosophy that is instrumental within the curriculum programme. This is to include historical makeup of yoga, the sutras, three guṇas; Patañjalis eight limbs, vṛttis, pañca kleśās, and the purusharthas. We also cover how the ancient principles have led the way to modern practice.

BANDHA, PRANAYAMA AND THE SUBTLE BODIES

Learn the science of breath, bandha locks, and the workings of the energy bodies. You will also become accustomed with the nādīs, the chakras and the connection between individual asana and chakra activation.

MANTRA, MEDITATION AND MUDRA

Chant until your heart is content, realise the importance of dristhi and then find oneness in what true meditation is.

ANATOMY

Once you have undergone basic anatomy training. You will gather an understanding of how the body works. From here, you can apply this knowledge for safe and effective practice and teaching.

YIN AND AYURVEDA

There will be an exploration of the five elements: meridian lines, myofascial and fascial system, and pathways to the brain and nervous system. You will also gain knowledge in āyurvedic principles, nutrition and lifestyle, how to apply bolsters, sequencing for yin practice, and more.

Kiara McBain

With more than 4,000 teaching hours and 500 E-RYT, Kiara has taught classes in the yoga studio and gyms, at resorts, in corporate offices, juvenile centres and country clubs. She has taught to at-risk youth, celebrities, varying kinds of athletes, individual’s suffering with physical and psychological illness and to advanced and beginning yogis. She has spent years teaching students one-on-one and leading groups in classes, workshops and immersive retreats. Kiara started leading 200hr yoga teacher trainings in 2016. Recognized by Lululemon Athletica as an exceptional yoga instructor.

During his Yoga career thus far, Richard-Hubert has taught over 4,000 hours (commercial and private) classes, to a diverse array of clientele, and led several advanced Yoga workshops for top yogis. He has spent 100’s of hours devouring books on philosophy to accompany his strong personal practice.
